About Me
I have been a member of Moore Lab in the Department of Genomics and Computational Biology at UMass Chan Medical School for over 2 years. Through my work as a software engineer in the lab, I have had the incredible opportunity to learn about regulatory genomics and oversee software products from idea conception to implementation and maintenance. Given the wide domain I have been granted in this role, I have been able to work through all aspects of the product development process from setting user requirements and designing software architecture, to putting in the development work to make ideas come to life.
Prior to my current role, I worked as a web designer and developer in the wine industry in Paso Robles, CA helping wineries manage their online presence. I also had the chance to gain hands-on experience with a bit of marketing and graphic design work, writing marketing emails and designing brochures to go into wine club shipments. Occasionally I still help out on an as-needed basis.
I graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 2022 with a BS in Liberal Arts and Engineering Studies. Like many other students interested in UI/UX design, I enrolled in the program because it allows students to combine computer science coursework from the College of Engineering with design courses from the College of Liberal Arts under one degree. This created a wide foundation of skills that I have been able to build upon in my professional career.
Outside of work, I love to spend time cooking, practicing guitar, strength training, running, hiking, and taking care of my plants!
